How Many Words Can You Fit?
Drop a word, then cross more words onto it inside a small, sliding grid. Longer, better-connected words score more, and packing letters into solid blocks scores most of all — the best runs land on the global board below.

What counts as a word?
Every word is checked against ENABLE — the Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon, a public-domain word list of roughly 173,000 entries that has been the validation backbone of mainstream word games for years, including early versions of Words With Friends. It’s public domain, so it’s free to use and not tied to any single game’s proprietary dictionary.
We trimmed it to letters-only words between 3 and 15 characters and stripped out slurs and offensive terms, leaving about 168,000 playable words. That’s why obscure-but-real words like ZA’s longer cousins still land, while two-letter fragments and rude entries don’t.
If a word you’re sure about is rejected, it’s almost always that ENABLE simply doesn’t list it — proper nouns, abbreviations, and very new slang aren’t in it by design.
How to play & how scoring works
- Your first word is free — type it and it drops in centred. It’s a word-at-a-time game: you always add a whole word (3+ letters), never single letters, so everyone plays on the same footing.
- Every word after the first must cross or sit beside what’s already down. Sitting alongside is allowed as long as every little junction it makes — the 2-letter words like AT, BE, IN, and any longer run — is itself a real word. That’s how you pack letters together.
- If a word fits in several spots, you pick — or hit ⚡ Auto-place best to drop it on the highest-scoring spot.
- Use Move board to slide the whole crossword toward an edge and free up space on the other side — it stops at the boundary.
- Score = the word’s length plus 2 points for every word it crosses or forms, so tightly woven placements win.
- Word bonuses: making 3+ words at once, words of 7+ letters, and rare letters (J, Q, X, Z) each add extra points.
- 💎 Solid blocks are the big one: completely fill a square of letters with no gaps. Each 2×2 you complete pays +15, and it pays once. Bigger solid areas stack many 2×2s — a 2×3 strip is two of them, a 2×4 is three — plus a completion kicker for a full 3×3 (+25) or 4×4 (+60). Spreading words thinly no longer gets you near the top; density does.

The trick isn’t finding a word that fits — it’s leaving no gaps where the next ten go.
